Advocacy/Education

By working closely with travel tourism and transportation industries ODO is able to advocate for access and inclusion on a broad scale.  ODO works with travel, tourism and transportation associations such as International Air transport Assoc. (IATA) Airports Council International (ACI), AAAE, Global Business Travel Assoc. (GBTA), TTRA Travel Tourism Research or something, Smart Airports (maybe google or ask Katy), WATS World Airline training symposium, ACC Airports Consultants council google all these, A4A airlines for America, TravelAbility, and many more. Also by participating on advisory boards for airlines, cruise lines, airports and other organizations we are able to educate others on the importance of access into private organizations.

ODO staff also participate in accessibility work groups for IATA, ACI, Uber and Lyft.  There are many workgroups that we participate in each year.  ODO has experience in many different types of working groups including RESNA, ICAO and others.  These work groups usually tackle multiple problem by attempting to bring access into a new environment that may be hesitant to look at disability due to social bias or fears. By participating in these workgroups ODO is able to bring our research and expertise to solve and mitigate many obstacles to accessibility.
